This workshop is designed to equip entrepreneurs with essential knowledge and strategies explicitly tailored to Indigenous businesses. Covering a wide range of critical topics, this workshop addresses key areas such as understanding Indigenous-specific tax considerations, including Quebec/Ontario tax issues, on- and off-reserve taxation requirements and navigating the complexities of charging and remitting taxes. Participants will learn how to determine appropriate tax rates manage financial objections with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), handle remittances effectively, and address unique challenges related to employing Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals on and off reserve. In this session, Indigenous entrepreneurs will also learn how to pay themselves from their businesses.
